i work in a doctor's office.

always bringing bribes with them....lunches and plastic doodas with their drug name on it.

sorry if i offend anyone here, but i trust them about as much as a used car salesman..........

9. My mom's dr. had TONS of samples of whatever drug

they were currently pushing. If it was something that my mom was on, the doc would send her out the door with a 2wks to 1-month supply of sample packs. She said it was the least she could do since she gets them from the reps and mom's insurance didn't cover anything but her diabetes meds. That meant about 4 mo. out of the year that mom didn't need to shell out for at least one of the meds she was on.

It helped some. I know she did it for other elderly patients too. Unfortunatly, she's retired now. :( Really great patient advocate.

As a patient, I resent the time they often take with my doctors. I've been given bg monitors because of them, but I'd have rather paid for them and not had the overdressed shills involved.

Check out "No Free Lunch." Maybe you could get the docs to check it out too--one of my doctors did, though they wouldn't sign the pledge, she did say she thought they were right.

6. I was in my Drs. office once and ended up having my appt.

postponed because he was taking the drug rep to lunch. Of course, my dr. at the time was an old geezer and the drug rep was a really hot looking blonde with a conservative suit on, of course, the skirt just barely covered the fact that she was not a natural blonde.

Needless to say, that was my last appt. with that dr.

You betca--doctors get them. I left a cardiologist when I found out Pfizer paid for a trip to Europe for him, and he's wealthy as hell.

Apparently, it is perfectly legal to bribe doctors.

8. some of the docs I know have the viagra, Cipro, Zithromax

zoloft, celebrex, celexa, lexapro, etc drug reps number on their personal cell phone speed dial to call when they need samples for their kids, wives, family and friends. - It is out of control.
Samples are great! but only in the right hands new patinets trying the drug, needy patients who can't afford them. Not doctors wives.

It happens way too much.

Pretty much all the medications in the last ten years I've taken have been free samples.

Of course, I have to push aside the fruit baskets to get to my doc's office door...

if you think about it showering people with bribes is the way to keep them obedient.loyal,trusting.

The amerrican people are sold out with bribeds too and they do not get gift showers like doctors do,just tell us a few lies and bribe usa with promises and the voter children eat it up and reelect monsters..WE give away half our income(less if you are richer) to fund the wicked war companies that make the weapons and torture devices retraints and violet wands that will kill and hurt them when they finally wake up and see what the rich pigs and tyrants abusing thier trust have done to harm the world,our world to"win".
