waaaaaaaaa Rice treated badly
KHARTOUM, Sudan - Security forces in the Sudanese capital manhandled U.S. officials and reporters traveling with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, marring her round of congratulatory meetings with leaders of the new unified government. Rice demanded an apology, and got it.

"It makes me very angry to be sitting there with their president and have this happen," she said. "They have no right to push and shove."

Rice made her remarks to reporters after she and her entourage boarded an airplane to fly from the capital to a refugee camp in the Darfur region. At the camp, she said the United States would hold the Sudanese government to account if it fails to end the refugee crisis.

1. First thing I though of when I read this was the classic pose
of Jack Benny. Anybody remember??? Left arm across chest, right are at 90 degree angle so that his fingers are touching his cheek. The classic look on Benny's face would go good too - that "OMG, is this person for real?" look.

7. Actually
If you read the article...They roughed up a number of reporters.....This isn't a good thing. I don't care if its Bush or Kerry as long as someone stops the ethnic cleansing.

11. Although you're correct about
how our people were treated, I still don't accept Rice as a good choice for our country as Secretary of State. She failed horribly as our National Security Advisor ("who would ever have thought planes would fly into buildings"...well, you, Condi, you were briefed on this scenario. Twice. or What was the name of the report you were given by the Clinton administration..."Bin Laden to Attack Within the United States".)
Bush loves to promote failure. Tenet was awarded a medal...for also being a miserable failure at his job.
Condi continues to push the Bush agenda ahead of what is good for America.
She's a blind nationalist. Not a patriot. She serves her president. Not the people.
And the results are horrifying.
(plus, there was that Freudian slip of referring to Bush as her "husband". Creepy)

Um, HELLO! Pretty sure they already failed at that. I'm sure they will be held accountable post-haste! :sarcasm:

10. "Diplomacy 101 says you don't rough your guests up," Wilkinson said later.
May I add, Diplomacy "001" (middle school level) says you don't change the menu signs in the US Capitol Building's cafeteria to read "Freedom Fries" in a veiled, childish attempt to promote hatred towards a country that has a minor disagreement with yours.

12. Do they let Rice back in the US anymore?
Seems to me that she hasn't done anything except get face time with whoever around the globe for months now.

13. I'm more troubled by the treatment of the press
The government didn't want to be questioned about it's policies and role in the genocide. Rough up the reporters in hope it doesn't happen.

Rice can stick her self-righteous outrage where the sun don't shine.
