Is the world in a coma? Bush admits to lying about Iraq...nobody notices
Edited on Thu Jul-21-05 01:29 PM by Jester_11218
Time and time again Bush admits to lying about the reasons for going to war. It is so obvious....how can nobody notice this? I am crazy?

From my blog:
http://tvnewslies.org/blog/?p=60

If George W. Bush tells us that we invaded Iraq because Saddam did not let the inspectors in, and we all know that the inspectors were indeed let in, then how does anyone not realize we are being lied to about the reason for going to war? It is SO OBVIOUS!

http://tvnewslies.org/blog/?p=60

Please tell me...am I crazy here? He keeps saying that Saddam would not let the inspectors in and that is why we had no choice and we had to invade. What the hell is he talking about? Please, somebody explain this to me! Am I crazy or is the the rest of the nation?

HELP! I need some sanity!

The rest of the world knows the lies of Shrub and are screaming mad about it. It is just no one is telling you. Frankly. A lot of countries are distancing themselves from the USA

2. i think people are noticing
Edited on Thu Jul-21-05 01:31 PM by grrl62
but they have the same rhetoric spewed at them by the same talking heads ad naseum. i think people feel weird and isolated for having feeling contradictory to what is being spewed by the MSM - couple that feeling with not seeing a great deal of real life/realtime protests and a person can start feeling super alone.

i think the saying "the revolution will not be televised" is totally apropros right about now.

4. But how...
But how does he get away with repeating that unreal lie about the inspectors? All someone has to do is ask him what he means by that? What can he possibly say?

11. if they control the MSM
we are hearing only their message. for some people - hearing only their message repeated over and over and over... well, they start to think the majority of people agree with that message.

you don't want to think the people who inform us and govern us are liars and pushing partisan efforts. it's just like as children, many of us probably looked up to adults/authority figures with an air of respect and a "they know everything" attitude. you don't want to think your parents or teachers lied to you about HUGE THINGS. just as people don't want to think the MSM and govt is lying about EVERYTHING. it's not what they say, it's what they don't say. if they say down - think UP. ya know?

realizing the lies is 1/2 the battle. countering and exposing them is the next step.

12. he doesn't (they don't) feel obligated to do anything
i think someone first must have a sense of right/wrong, a conscience, and the ability to recognize an obligation and to express empathy to even begin to feel like they have to "own up" to something.

7. there is an unforgivable failure of leadership happening . . .
in Washington right now, by both parties . . . neither are willing to confront the truth about the Bush administration and, more importantly, DO something about it . . . with few exceptions, those in Congress represent noone but themselves and their corporate sponsors . . . I know they sure as hell don't represent me . . .

18. Wordsmithing
They wordsmith everything so that technically no idividual sentence can be considered a lie but they leave a false impression with the public.

Leaving a false impression is part of the definition of lying. Look it up:-)

Peace,
Jesse

16. Google "Asch Conformity Experiment"
Here's the Wikipedia article:

Now replace the confederates in this experiment with today's news media, and the subjects of the experiment with the American people.
