Has the entire world gone mad?? Andrea Mitchell in a 'scuffle;' with Rice
having to come to the defense of yet another 'noble reporter' probably in bed with the B*s; Another London bomb attack (where was the ex-NYC mayor THIS time?) with no deaths...no suicides either, suggesting that it is not at all the same game plan as 2 weeks ago; DSM and Rovegate/Plamegate really starting to be exposed by MSM (See WaPo article today) with B* Rove et al looking VERY Guilty of High Crimes and Misdemeanors, and another diversion yesterday with the nomination of someone who actually gave advise to Jeb B* during the recount debacle of 2000, and has donated heavily to B* campaigns...I NEVER wanted to believe in MIHOP; but I'm becoming more convinced of the possibility.

Shame on the so called 'free press'; Shame on the Democrats who support Roberts; Shame on everyone in the universe that promotes and protects this evil war.....I AM SICK OF ALL OF THIS.

6. Shame on them is putting it mildly
They are, IMO, supporting international war crimes. They would, in a just world, all be standing trial for it.

asking about the blind eye to genocide and they "escorted" her and some other journalists from the room and slammed the doors in their faces.

Edited to add link:

"Why should the U.S. believe the Sudanese government will stop the killing when the government is still supporting the militia?" Mitchell asked, before guards grabbed her and muscled her toward the rear of the room as State Department officials shouted at the guards to leave her alone.

Too bad nobody ever asks Bush these questions.

11. Rice pissed me off because she was "outraged" about what
happened to the journalists, but doesn't seem to be outraged about what is happening in Sudan. Blind eye indeed.

How touching.

When the next set of Abu Ghraib photos come out, I understand there are pix of soldiers raping minors. I wonder if Condi will visit them too. :eyes:

16. That's why I cynically think its a show; a diversion from the issues
that could really take this administration out on its ears (buttocks!!whatever, you fill in the blanks)...She does seem more concerned about the journalists, BUT WHY DON'T THESE SAME 'NOBLE' JOURNALISTS ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS TO B* ET AL? They are protecting each other...I really don't think they care about the deaths of thousands, and more to come; about any ounce or iota of decency, integrity, honesty..

17. don't you mean Andrea KOPPEL?
I heard Andrea Koppel reporting from location in Africa, where reporters were jostled by local government officials.

I don't think Andrea Mitchell is on this trip.

<snip>

When NBC ? diplomatic ? reporter Andrea Mitchell tried to ask el-Bashir a question about his involvement with alleged atrocities, a scuffle broke out.Guards grabbed the reporter and muscled her toward the rear of the room as State Department officials shouted at the guards to leave her alone. ''Get your hands off her!'' Wilkinson demanded. But all the reporters and a camera crew were physically forced out.Ambassador Khidair Haroun Ahmed, head of the Sudanese mission in Washington, attempted to smooth over the situation on the spot. ''Please accept our apologies,'' he told the reporters and aides. ''This is not our policy.''

Later, describing Rice's meeting with el-Bashir, Wilkinson said, ''She was very direct about the skepticism of the international community about their ability to improve Darfur.''Rice put it this way: ''I said action, not words.''U.S. officials said Sudanese officials repeatedly asked Rice to lift sanctions, and she gave them no promises. But Rice later indicated she might consider requests to ease sanctions on railway and aircraft components.''I think we have to look at the argument that this is an issue for humanitarian reasons,'' Rice said in an interview with National Public Radio. ''Obviously if there is a case on the humanitarian side we would be willing to look at it.''

21. You will notice, however, that Rice did not say a word until...

she was safely aboard the plane on the way out of Sudan...

Andrea Mitchell deserved everything she got.

Can you imagine some foreign press contingent getting out of hand at the WH PDB and some foreign journalist interrupting * and hinting complicity in atrocities after being told repeatedly that there would be no questions allowed? They would not just be escorted to the back of the room, they'd be out of the WH ON THEIR ASSES!!!

The whole thing sounds like a staged event...

22. LOL !!! You are NO village idjiut! Can you imagine McClellan's response
to "real" reporters? He's had a slight taste of that anomaly for the past few days with hopefully more to come...

I agree. "The whole thing sounds like a staged event."

Now, let's see; can we list the ways in which both Rice and Mitchell might benefit from this little staged event?
