So, the Dems are not going to filibuster
Roberts? Do they know what an opposition party is and what it does? If they need an example then perhaps they should look at how the Repugnicans treated CLINTON during his TWO administrations.

Wow! To think these people will come whining to us in 2006 and 2008 about how we need to put Republicans with D's after their names in power to undo what the Republicans with R's after their names did.

5. No they were too busy investigating him
for a failed real estate deal and an extra marital affair.

So what the pugs didn't filibuster Clinton's nominations.

8. I'm just saying
because many here will say the Dems aren't real dems if they don't filibuster. That is why.

6. They didn't have to
They never scheduled hearings for his nominees. Much quieter, same result.

10. No, they just never let most of his judicial nominees out of committee
100's of positions went vacant for years!

Just another rose by another name.

13. I wasn just addressing the supremes
not all judicial appointments. What they did on the lower courts was reprehensible.

4. I think it's smart to lay low for now.
And then rip this guy open at the hearings. Bush pulled him out now to distract from the Plame affair. I think Dems should ignore him now and build up ammo and then bring out all the conflicts of interest that he apparently has when he's on the hot seat.

In the meantime let's roust the administration and keep their transgressions in the forefront.

9. You got it. Since the sorry showing of 2004, I've been asking myself

if it's any longer worth it to vote. And wondering if it ever was

What's that Lily Tomlin quote? "No matter how cynical I get, I can't keep up,"

12. How can they filibuster ?
Roberts was unanimously confirmed for his last judicial appointment by those same Dem Senators. At least most of them are still there.
