Gay kids hanged in Iran by the sect we're fighting for in Iraq
Andrew Sullivan says that gay people should support the war in Iraq because "this is our war too." I cannot agree. This is exactly the wrong war, because it has brought into power in Iraq the same sect of Muslims who a couple of days ago hanged these teenage boys in Iran for being gay.

And this is no accident. It was the intention to remove the Sunnis from power and bring the Shi'ites to power. I have no personal investment in either group, but this is a civil war that has been going on in that region for 1,373 years.

We are fools.

1. Andrew Sullivan is nothing more than...
...an uneducated morAn. Any person who spouts right wing talking points to gain favor for the illegal war in Iraq has no brain, cannot think for themselves.

There are much better ways to fight the way gay people are treated in the Middle East. Waging illegal wars for fucking oil isn't one of those ways.

2. Very sad
As a Muslim, I see this execution and this war as atrocious events that never should have happened.

Andrew is wrong, this extremism, this bigotry will only get stronger because of Bush's War.

3. I agree
It's horrible but I don't think he's helping anything either.

4. Shades of things to come?
Seems to me that this would make some people in our country very happy. This is nothing but a shame. Casualties of the war? Or casualties of religious extremism?
