Jenna Bush has a job. I told you she was the good twin.
Barbara Bush, that useless lump, continues to be unemployed a year after graduating college. Jenna's working as a teacher's aid in a charter school in DC. You all called her the drunk, evil one. But it turns out that she's the drunk good one and her wicked, crafty sister Barbara is the evil one. While Jenna's working a steady 8 to 4 helping little kids learn how to read and add and subtract, Barbara's sleeping in late every day, then, I dunno, going out and pushing homeless people into oncoming traffic. Jenna is sweet and affable and torked to the gills, like her mother Laura, while Barbara is conniving and lazy and sneaky like her father Jeb.

5. You do know that Barbara is Skull and Bones right?
Edited on Fri Jul-22-05 04:38 AM by nascarblue
She was initiated in her senior year. They voted and made it co-ed back in the mid 1990's. I heard Kerry wasn't too happy about that either.

By the way, Barbara is apparently doing part time volunteer work in South Africa. I read an article last week which interviewed one of the nurses at this clinic, and the nurse doesn't recall seeing her. Hmmm. I think it's just a front. Wonder what she's really doing out there. Her mom was out there with her last week. Is Laura still in Africa?

17. Sorry, no.
There was much speculation that she would join Skull and Bones, but it did not happen.

Skull and Bones Watch

John Tierney of the New York Times reports that Barbara Bush does not belong to Skull and Bones, the secret society whose members include her father and grandfather.

He offers two competing explanations:

"Bones snubbed her. Some members of Bones say that she was not asked to join because she was known less for achievement than for partying, most notably when she and her twin sister, Jenna, who graduates from the University of Texas this weekend, were cited for underage drinking."

Or:

"She snubbed Bones. Perhaps Ms. Bush was following a different family tradition. Her father, never fond of Eastern elitism, seriously considered joining a different secret society at Yale less known for ancient rituals than for its parties. Although he acceded to his father's wishes, he became a relatively unenthusiastic member who did not even bother thinking up the requisite Bones name for himself. He ended up being called Temporary."

20. Interesting
So she sounds like she's her independent person and doesn't do things like her dad. She probably joined that one that Bush turned down because he was pressured to join S&B I think.

Edited on Fri Jul-22-05 07:51 AM by FreedomAngel82
I didn't know that. So she's turning out to be more like Poppy every day. Is she going to run for Texas governor and then the presidency too?
Why did Kerry not like her joining?

6. Hmm. the last I heard of this "job" was that she was not qualified
to even be a teacher's aide.. They ballyhooed he "upcoming" job, but then the fact that she was not qualified, was kept relatively quiet..

She sure seems to be the jet-setter,and the 8-4 scenario seems unlikely to afford her that much time off..

andf unless it's a year-round, it's summer now and school's out for summer (as someone who shares some of her proclivities, once sang about)

13. Yea, well sure, on the surface
it's good to see what she's doing.

However, keep in mind she's still a Bush....so there's no telling when she'll start brainwashing the kids with that awful right wing radical Christian conservative agenda that really stands for bigotry and hate.

15. Barbara is the liberal one though ...
During the time she used to party in NY, and the gossip about her was leaked to the press, it was once reported that she said she did not believe in any of her father's RW crap. That's the good part about her.

The bad part is that if the above is true, she was willing to whore herself out against her beliefs by appearing at the RNC convention.

21. Interesting
Too bad if it was true she could stand up for herself. I guess they didn't want to "ruin" daddy's image. What if they're all really liberals in their beliefs but they just got into the republican party with a few little Christian things here and there? It's all about the money and oil and profiting with them (at least the men). Corporations are known to give to the republican party more-so to the democratic party because the republicans give them the tax breaks and all that. So that could make sense. I was watching a documentary called "Spin" not long ago and in it they told how Poppy Bush was really pro-choice but he had to change to pro-life to be his parties nominee and get the votes while Al Gore was more-so pro-life then pro-choice. That's when I first wondered about that with them.

24. I think they are all more conservative than their image
Bush I used to put out this image (at least in the northeast) that he was the old fashioned moderate republican, compared to Reagan. But his history shows that he was always a RWer. Shrub is just the unmasked RW id of the bush family.

But Barbara always did seem somehow a little more in tune with reality. But if she believes in more liberal world view than the family she really prostituted herself to campaign. Maybe it's a blood thicker than water thing instead -- like several Reagan kids who clearly turned out to be liberal always stood by the old man.

28. Trust me, I'm usually not one to defend Barbara Bush, but......
to her credit, she recently volunteered her time at a place in Africa that helps children with AIDS. When Laura and Jenna Bush came back to the states from their Africa trip, Barbara stayed behind there, because she was still volunteering.

So she is doing some good....
