3. It's too bad Bush and McClellan aren't saying that...
...but they're, "...not going to comment in the midst of an ongoing investigation."

5. There is a reason...
...that they both are down another 25% in audience share for their radio programs. The scary thing is that Michael Savage is going up in some markets. I caught a little bit of this guy yesterday and I gotta tell you he is the most hateful man I have ever heard. According to him, all of us that post on the board should be investigated as traitors because we are the reason that these crazy sons of bitches bomb subways and trains. Even though I can guess that everyone who is a member of the DU wanted to kill Osama bin Ladin after 9/11. He was also saying that the ACLU should be prosecuted under the RICO act for being a seditious fifth column group and...I can't go on any further this guy is too much.

8. There was an editorial in the NJ paper around here...
..the guy who writes it considers himself an old guard conservative and he's been no fan of Bush. He always struck me more in the William Buckley mode of conservativism. Yesterday his op-ed was all about how much Rush and Hannity suck because all they do is pretty much spout Rove talking points on how to defend Bush at all costs. That's all well and good except he then went on to praise Savage as a true conservative talk radio host.

10. Yeah, he's a real winner...
Just a note, and no offense to the LGBT on this board, but this guy is definitely closeted and fighting his own demons.

9. Here is their new talking point...Special Prosecutors out of control
Here is part of William Safire's testimony on 7/20 before the hearing about federal shield law....gag.

http://judiciary.senate.gov/testimony.cfm?id=1579&wit_id=4506

I am seething inside because I cannot tell you --- with no holds barred --- what I think of the unchecked abuse of prosecutorial discretion, and of the escalating threats of a Federal judiciary that is urgently in need of balancing guidance by elected representatives of the people. But for the first time, I have to pull my punches.

The reason is that I am afraid of retaliation against Federal prisoner 45570083, whose byline in the New York Times is Judith Miller. This Pulitzer prizewinning reporter, who earned the trust of the U.S. forces with whom she was embedded in Iraq, has accepted the painful consequences of daring to call public attention to the unbalanced, unwise, ever-growing application of the contempt power.

I must not anger or upset those who control her incarceration, and who repeatedly threaten to pile on with longer punishment as a criminal unless she betrays her principles as a reporter. Because any harsh criticism of them from me might well be taken out on her, I am constrained to speak gently, as if concerned about treatment of a hostage. That duress, I submit, is an example of what Justice Brennan had in mind about a “chilling effect”. I can testify that it works all too well, which is why I will now shut up and look to Congress to pass a law balancing our values and taking the chill out of the air.

11. Uh-huh. Unlike, say, Joseph Padilla, Miller can walk out today.
She's not "accepting the painful consequences of calling attantion to comtempt power". She's in contempt.

Anyone can bitch about whether she should be held or not, and nothing happens. The only "chill" is for those people defying court orders, and if Safire wants to have more defiance, well, that's his opinin and to say that Miller will be punished for it is so much horsecrap I can't stand it.
