I don't see how Rove can lie out of this one

We can all see what he's doing. using his strong arm on the media to propogate lies about what Plame's job was, that she assigned Wilson, she wasn't really under cover, she had a desk job.

all these are such blatant lies, so far from the truth, it seems it doesn't really matter. No grand jury or prosecutor is going to listen to blatant lies like that, especially when they just don't hold water. It doesn't matter how many times Bill Oreilly says Plame had a desk job. When anyone at the CIA is questioned they will tell what her real job was. now that we all know the facts, that Plame was not only undercover, but she was involved in a very secret mission that involved others and an entire fake company that was set up to infiltrate other organizations, and it was all blown because of Rove and Novak, I don't see how their lies can have any affect.

it seems the more hot water he's in the larger the lies get. I think this is a good sign.

sooner or later he's going to have to realize, lying can only get you so far, and it won't get you very far in a court of law.

Bush will pardon any of his men who get indicted. Then, the RWNM will promptly go to work spinning the indictments as being politically motivated.

We're already worried about Rove and others getting pardons? Let's get an indictment first.

There's two battles being fought here, and it'd be a shame to win one and lose the other. Our zeal to see Rove and this regime frog-marched vs. the framing of this regime as liars and using that premise to open the doors to a lot of their abuses.

I could care less what the wingnuts lie or say. In fact, let them go further into their plausible denials and alienate themselves further from their moderates. I don't want to help them along...just sit back and watch them stew and simmer while that big sword of Damaclese hangs over their heads.

Right now, we don't even know whose being convicted (if anyone) and what the charges are. How can you even discuss something that is at least a year or longer away from happening...if at all.

If Bunnypants chooses to pardon, I agree with the the above poster that it would be political suicide for the Repugnican party. Now that's not a bad thing either. Remember, it was Ford's pardon of Nixon that enabled Carter to win in '76.

4. This "desk job" one is the most hilarious

Do they think spies live in dark alleys, sleeping in their trench coats when they're not busy chasing hulking Soviet agents through colorful European cities?

Remember the SNL bit where Dukakis stares into the camera and says, "I can't believe I'm losing to this guy."? That's my feeling right now, that anyone would pay the slightest attention to these bogus claims.

No one without clearance knew what Plame did for a living. Period. Her next door neighbor who she knew for several years had no clue. She was undercover. She worked for a CIA front organization (that has now been permanently compromised). She suggested Wilson when her boss asked her if she knew anyone who knew the region and could poke around there without creating a lot of attention. He got his airfare, hotel room and meals and not a penny more. Wow, such a deal. Unless you think Niger is the lap of luxury, you gotta know that this is what business types call "bad travel."

Their talking points are so lame only the purple-tonguers bother to repeat them. And I doubt even they BELIEVE them, they just will never admit what is so obviously true: They and their neocon heros are lousy scumbags, personally, politically and morally.
