1. A nasty story

Some people are really fuct up. And sometimes, they find each other and have relationships.

I'm not sure it will be easy to figure out who is the "real" culprit. Sounds like two very violent people who had at each other, if initial reports are correct.

This is another case where we're going to have to wait for the investigation to be conducted and scrutinized.

2. This is pretty much the same scenario as

John and Lorena Bobbitt, at least on the surface (I have not yet read the article itself).

As I recall, John was later charged with raping Lorena and was acquitted, and Lorena was either convicted or pled guilty to assault.

John was acquitted and Lorena was found not guilty.

Basically, the respective juries said "John can't be convicted of assault, so we're setting him free" and "Lorena can't be convicted of malicious wounding because John assaulted her, so we're setting her free." No paradox there!
