Is John Bolton a big source for Judith Miller-Chalabi? The Washington Note
July 22, 2005
SCOOP: John Bolton Was Regular Source for Judith Miller WMD and National Security Reporting

TWN has just learned from a highly placed source -- and in the right place to know -- that John Bolton was a regular source for Judith Miller's New York Times WMD and national security reports.

The source did not have any knowledge on whether Bolton was one of Miller's sources on the Valerie Plame story she was preparing, but argues that he was a regular source otherwise.

1. I don't know about Judy's source, but i believe Bolton is deeply
involved in this. I've said it many times, I think that's the reason the WH won't release those Bolton memos to Biden and Dodd.

5. Bolton, Miller, Roberts, Rove...what a lovely crew.
Partner's in crime. He's now implicated in Miller's crime of lying about Iraq. He's an author of our miseries. As far as Miller goes, she is just dreadful. I hope they keep the Grand Jury in session forever (she stays put until the Grand Jury adjourns).

If he were a gentleman, Bolton would visit his girl friend and add some comfort.

My understanding is that she's in general population at a fairly nasty federal holding pen. That's what they do when they want people to talk; put then in real jail. We'll see. We'll bet a picture of a Franklin!

Great! See, it works--invariably. Think the worst hopin' for the best. If what you say is true, then the witch deserves to experience what other prisoners without her connections have to look forward to.

Normally the happenings in prison are not anything I would wish on anyone, but in "Missy's" case, I'm going to make an exception.

Now since I changeded up mind and hopes that I lose, wouldja dig up some info to confirm she's in with the general population. I wants to pay up. But I needs de proof. Cheers! ;] ;]

Well, I like Canadian money as well so get ready to review her new housing facilities and pay up:

Good stuff on our jail facility here in the Commonwealth of Virginia

Exerpt from a female prisoner's letter regarding the Alexandria facility:

"This place is weird. Men and women in adjacent holding cells, with large picture windows, so I have to pull a blanket up around me when I pee. I got the guards to shut the floppy blinds that swing vertically outside, plus they keep the slot in the solid metal door closed all the time except during meals.

Overheard through the door, deputy to inmate down the hall: "Knock on my window one more time and you won't never see the outside again, they'll find you floating in a sewer someplace!"

I've been asking to call my lawyer for three days. A woman down the cell block's been calling for help for hours, no response."

:evilgrin:This is no country club. I've been by it a few times (to visit my mother) and the vibe is clearly negative.

12. WaterMan, I've been wondering
if perhaps Ms. Miller's role extends to having knowledge of the orginal forgeries, or some info along those lines. It certainly is not six degreees of separation to connect her to Michael Ledeen. It seems that the wilder the theory the more plausible it becomes over time. Sheesh.

14. I think so.
In fact, I've been saying approximately that for about a year now. Her role falls more into one of the other leaves on Fitzgerald's clover. She freaked early on when he wanted to see her records regarding her warning the "Islamic front" that the FBI was coming to visit. There are serious undercurrents here. Judy has complained that Fitzgerald is actually trying to uncover information on that case with this investigation. I suspect she's right. He has the right to.

The leaks coming out now are all from Rove's lawyer, or two other senior White House official's lawyers. At some point, perhaps soon, we will hear more from the prosecutor. I am convinced he may have espionage charges under consideration.

of the neocons, she could actually be much more than that. My belief system incorporates Karmic justice as the only true judgment, and so when a person receives their justice during the same lifetime that they committed their crimes, I believe its a very good thing for the victims.

18. Life can be funny.
It can offer us a wide range of opportunities to deal with our negative side, and make straight our ways. Some of these are subtle. Others are the bars on a cell.

People like Rove and Miller do not understand hatred. They are fooled into believing that it is something that they can control, to their own advantage. I don't think so. The hatred, fear, and anxiety that they have helped to fuel is fully out of control. If anyone doubts that, they merely need to look at the VP's orders for plans for an attack on Iran in case of "national emergency." Only an insane person could see those "plans" as options. Yet as surely as water is wet, the neocons have been eager to consider violence against Iran. For this reason alone, it is vital that the administration be removed from power.

Why wouldn't Fitzgerald go after her original notes on that case? It would establish a history of this administration leaking classified info for political purposes.

Have you touched on this in any of your researches?

20. I find it troubling.
I've read a number of opinions on DU regarding {a} his communication/relationship with her; and {b} his death. Obviously, I can only speculate. But I consider judith to be a snake, and I choose that word carefully. More, I note that in Wilson's book, he said after Kelly's death, his friends expressed concern for his safety. I think Wilson's book is fantastic, because of his ability to convey a message. He chooses his words carefully, too. And that's a good idea when dealing with snakes. (grin)

22. I haven't read Wilson's book - I suppose I ought to...
But, yeah, Miller is a nasty piece of work, methinks. (I personally am quite fond of snakes and serpents, so I rather dislike equating that vile woman with the ancient symbol of wisdom and spiritual power -- but I get your point.)

What really sickens me is all these "journalists" rallying to Miller's defense as if she were some sort of First Amendment/Free Press heroine (as if they'd know a "free press" even if it bit them in their fatted asses), instead of the (mal)administration toady she really is.

I just wonder how deep her perfidy goes. Did she lure an unknowing and trusting Kelly into the hands of his enemies? I have never believed for a MOMENT that he committed suicide!

As for Wilson, I'm hoping (ala Mr. X in the film JFK) that he has "too much light on him" to be outright bumped off. But I hope he keeps out of small planes...

24. Miller supposedly losing weight in jail
On one of the news sites a few days ago, one of her co workers said he visited her and that she was having stomach problems because of the food in jail and she was losing weight. He also said she had a roommate and had to sleep on a mattress on the floor the first night until her bed arrived. I forgot about her affair with Bernie Kerik until someone mentioned it today. That girl gets around.

well, at least the indication of a key development. I'm not sure this has become a provable fact yet (miller-bolton connection), but if this is something that comes out of the Fitz investigation, it will be a HUGE development.

This case keeps peeling layers away from a very nasty onion. but there's always another more demented layer.

37. John Bolton is not a source!!!
Saying Bolton is a source is kind of like saying Joseph Goebbels is a source. This is why Judith Miller is such a horrible reporter, she gets her information from people like Bolton, Rove, and Chalabai and then refuses to disclose it because she knows full well that they are not reliable sources. They are "sources" who will tell her what she wants to hear, and as long as she can keep them anonymous people won't question their reliability as much. How anyone can have respect for this woman's "journalism skills" is beyond me.

Remember the documents the Monkey House refuses to turn over to the DEMs?

Logically, it would seem highter up, like Herr Rove, also would avail himself of NSA intercepts -- just for political advantage, not treason or anything like that.

one cannot claim diplomatic immunity unless he/she had it when the crime was committed. Also, I don't think he would be immune from prosecution by his own country.

44. Bolton passes to Miller = Indictment
If Bolton passed on classified information to Miller, who is not cleared to received classified information, Bolton could and should be indicted.

If Bolton affirmatively lied about it to Fitz, Indictment #2!

If Bolton failed to list his testifying before the Fitz grand jury in this matter, and he signed the affirmation of completeness and truthfulness under penalty of perjury-- guess what? Indictment #3
for perjury to Congress.

If he withheld information from the grand jury and/or Fitzgerald germane to the investigation, then we have Indictments #4 and #5 for obstruction of justice.

Bolton is a prime subject to cop a deal with all the years of imprisonment he is facing. Hard to believe, but true!

And if Bolton was the source Miller is supposedly protecting, and Bolton rolls over, you can bet Miller will cop a plea also.

Our press is too easily manipulated. This story itself is founded on an anonymous source.

They do need to find a charge on Bolton for the house of cards to fall.

But, Judy may never talk. We may never truly know her source. For instance, it could have been George the Lesser who made a phone call to Judy. I wonder what his nickname for her is?

52. This would nail Miller's own lack of credibility
considering the numerous Bolton deadly lies regarding Cuba and North Korea. Using him as a source would only be useful to serve Bolton's own outrageous propaganda interests NOT as real information. There is no way that Miller could push this deadly "information" on as justification for war without being complicit in pure propaganda needs.
