I just read your profile & got a laugh from your response to "State" -- good one!
=== You have a point that there are so many different fronts to attack that if we sorted the issues into categories & then assigned different tasks according to category, we would be able to cover more of the issues that are so critical.
However, a 1000 people is not all that much on a national scale. The Rove letter campaign hit approximately 50 published letters nationally*. That's 5%, which is more than I expected! I would guess that it's very likely that at least half or more of those letters would not have been written had it not been for the assignment. Still, it averages out to 1 published letter a state.
Sorry I don't have any answers. I like your idea, but if we had 20,000 activists at a 5% publish rate, that would be 1,000 letters published which equals 20 per state. (I just checked & there are +73,000 registered users on DU. Of course, some are lurkers, some no longer visit, etc.)
I think until we build our activist membership we should continue our mass response to one task at a time.
=== *This is in no way a put down of the 1000 people who took time from their busy schedules, their family, their leisure time, to compose a letter regarding one of the most critical, timely & convoluted issues in our republic.
