Will there be another memogate?
Another memo has popped out of the woodwork in the UK, this time not a historical one. Over the weekend, the London papers detailed a leaked document which describes coalition plans to rapidly vacate Iraq, with force sizes reduced by half by this time next year.
Clearly this would be seen as a welcome move by most Americans and many Iraqis. It will be interesting to find out a) how much of it is actually true and b) whether they actually follow through.
I'm also wondering about Iraqi reaction to the memo. Prime Minister Jafari just made the trip to the U.S., and his key message was insisting the multinational force stay, to help shore up the government.
