propaganda from ABC to counter balance the West Wing?

Somehow, I get a bad omen from this show. From what I've read about it thus far, it looks like Geena Davis playing what John McCain would do if he were a female president.

With Geena Davis as the President? I doubt it. You also have committed liberals like Donald Sutherland and Ever Carradine in the cast. If anything the show could prepare Americans for having a woman as president, which would seem to work to Hillary Clinton's advantage.

I'd worry more about the West Wing going republican if Vinnick wins the election in November.

6. I have to admit I didn't know Geena Davis or Donald Sutherland's politics

but the premise of the story just sounds fishy, and it sounds like your characterization is probably closer than mine. A forcefully centrist show if you read about the premise.

A female Vice-President of Independent party status under a Republican Administration is put into the position of succeeding the dying POTUS but is told that the party and POTUS that they prefer the the Republican Speaker of the House (Donald Sutherland) to succeed her instead.

It just sounds fishy to me, the fact that they made her an Independent versus a straight moderate Republican tells me that the writers are trying very hard to hit a DLC or centrist audience. Which is fine, but I much better prefer the intelligence of the West Wing which was not ashamed of its liberal opinions. It was respectable too because they gave their fair share of discussing hte conservative viewpoints as well. I don't see that from the previews of this show yet, but I"ll give it a try for the first week of two.

7. all I remember is Joan Rivers's dis of Geena Davis

Don't remember the talk show, but Rivers said something like "...those young actresses like whatsername. That stupid one who does archery. Davis- Geena Davis."
