I thought bush didn't want the media to publish pictures like this.

Pallbearers carry the casket of Staff Sgt. Tricia Jameson Saturday, July 23, 2005, after funeral services in Omaha, Neb. Jameson, a Nebraska Army National Guard medic was killed July 14 near Trebil, Iraq, when a roadside bomb exploded near her ambulance as it approached wounded Marines. (AP Photo/Dave Weaver)

3. Well, if I'm right...
...it looks as though some news agencies are ignoring bush's instructions.

Except for those smuggled photos in the first reply, when was the last time you saw photos of coffins of soldiers who died for bush's war?

4. Good point. There seem to be some folks in media throwing wooden shoes
into Rove's propaganda machine.

May they prosper and their tribes increase!

5. I hope it's evidence of a new attitude from the press.
Fingers crossed.

7. Not the corporate management, but worker bees
who will probably end up out of work. We need to thank those who get this stuff out in front of the viewers at home. They are patriots.

6. In Louisiana
when several members of our nat'l guard were killed in Iraq, the commander of the LA unit (or whatever the head is called) phoned the local TV station to come film the caskets being unloaded. The TV station did, and pictures of all of the dead soldiers' caskets were shown on many local TV stations here in South Louisiana.

8. Wow, now that took a lot of guts on the commander's part. Good
for him; he thought of the troops before he thought of the dimson and for that, I salute him.

9. I believe the directive
applies to the coffins as they first arrive en masse at Dover. Families are free to allow whatever they wish at the services they arrange themselves. I think it works something like that.
