<snip>
The special prosecutor in the case, Patrick J. Fitzgerald, has kept a tight curtain of secrecy around his investigation. But he spent more than an hour in the Oval Office on June 24, 2004, interviewing Mr. Bush about the case. Mr. Bush was not under oath, but he had his personal lawyer for the case, James E. Sharp, with him.

Neither the White House nor the Justice Department has said what Mr. Bush was asked about, but prosecutors do not lightly seek to put questions directly to any president, suggesting that there was some information that Mr. Fitzgerald felt he could get only from Mr. Bush.

we don't care for corruption in the govt spurred on by corporat donors.... and we don't appreciate the constitution being shredded.... other than that they love us... really.

3. This is ironic, but could they nail Rove for lying to Bush?
Just follow me for a second:

Fitz: Mr. President, did you ask Karl Rove whether he was involved with this, and if so what did he tell you?

Dim-son: I did ask him, and Karl told me that he had absolutely no role in this whatsoever.

Lying to the President, I believe, is a crime for someone in Rove's position.

Now, Bush may have been lying his ass off during that interview, but wouldn't it be a hoot if Bush's statement were used to hang Rove?

7. It's a crime to lie to federal officials. The POTUS is a federal
official, last time I checked.

4. Why is this POS blivet allowed to NOT testify
under oath? Same happened with the 9/11 hearings if I'm not mistaken. This just makes me all the more suspicious of his culpability.

6. Bullshit, sorry!
When Clinton talked to the grand jury, his car was on television, everyone talked about it, etc.

This POS gets to sit in his own office with his lawyer in private with Fitzgerald NOT UNDER OATH?

That's disgusting, IMO.

9. The President Of The USA, In The Oval Office, Must Be Under Oath
Edited on Sun Jul-24-05 01:54 PM by ThomWV
The son of a bitch was under the oath of office. It requires he 'faithfully' execute the dutys of the office. Faithful does not mean you can tell a lie. If you lie about a know fact you are acting in an unfaithful way. How much simpler could it be. When he is home fucking with a chain saw he can lie all he likes. When he is in the Oval Office, doing the business of the Government, as he surely was in working with a lawful investigation being conducted by a Government Prosecutor, how in hell could he not be thought of as at that time acting in his legal capacity as President? If he was indeed acting as the President then he had to be under oath.
