11. The Bolsheviks did not overthrow the Czarist regime in Russia...

That had already been accomplished in Feb/Mar 1917. The Bolsheviks ousted the provisional government of Alexander Kerensky in the Fall of 1917, which was primarily made up on anarchist factions. Then, the Bolsheviks carried out the executions of the Czar and his family, after they had been held in captivity for many months by the provisional government.

After the anarchists had been ousted, the Bolsheviks set up a secret police force to go after other factions on the LEFT in Russia -- the right had already been neutralized by this point.

The anarchists were only loosely affiliated with the pre-February 'Constitutional Monarchists,' afaik. Kerensky became Prime Minster and then President of the provisonal government.

10. Before people jump on an (false) historical 'inaccuracy' ...

... PLEASE be aware that there were a series of Russian Revolutions in the early 20th Century.

The first Russian Revolution (of 1905) created a Parliamentary Monarchy, where the 'pariliament' was called the Duma.

The second Russian Revolution (ending February 1917) resulted in the abdication of the Czar (Nicholas II).

The October (of 1917) Revolution is often termed the "Bolshevik Revolution" and signaled the destruction of a representative form of government by the Leninist forces.

The period subsequent to the October Revolution is often referred to as the (failed) White Revolution, of forces aligned against the Marxist-Leninist "Bolshevik" ascendancy.

Most folks don't realize there was a Prime Minister of Russia (Alexander Kerensky) in the interim and the beginnings of a democratic Constitutional Monarchy.

I would have liked to see that system given a longer opportunity.

It's ironic that the 1917 revolution which the comic decries is the same process that led to the parliamentary government they applaud just twelve years earlier.

I just hate propaganda of any kind, even if it's amusing.

21. I was a close acquaintance to the widow of one of Kerensky's associates ..

... from the days Kerensky was at Stanford (in Palo Alto). The late Clara ________ was the widow of a professor at Stanford in the 50's who worked closely and socialized with Kerensky. I enjoyed many hours of discussion at Clara's home in Palo Alto (she enjoyed hosting small gatherings akin to lyceums - VERY interesting and interested people) over the years I lived near there (1983-2003). She had a rich understanding of those days and many photographs and anecdotes.
