Maybe Rove was right about McCain.
Maybe he is crazy from the years in the POW camp. Maybe that's why he keeps going along with the Right Wing agenda, with only a few minor scuffling protests hera & there.

The Bushies trashed & abused McCain & his family, & yet McCain helps & defends them. This is what psychotherapists call identifying with your abuser--in other words, Stockholm Syndrome.

As an aside, if Lakoff is right in his strict father/nurturing parent dichotomy, there is probably not much of a step from strict father to emotionally/physically abusive father. McCain's father was an Admiral. Hard to imagine a much better personification of the Strict/Abusive father archetype.

Maybe McCain DID give in to the N. Viets, as some rightwingers have accused him of doing. And maybe that's why he's still giving in to the Bushies. "Hurt me more, Mr. President."

5. They either have it, or he knows they'll make it up
After all, the "illegitimate black baby" spin from Rove certainly hobbled him in 2000, and it wasn't even true.

The BFEE doesn't NEED dirt. They just need to elicit the "fight or flight" response in their intended victims. McCain flinched, and now he's their household pet.

3. Makes sense to me
I've been saying that for a while now. Or maybe he wants Rove to work for him in '08.

4. Admiral McCain would not be proud of his son for backing up the Neocon
fascists.

I read somewhere that Admiral McCain detected the rise of fascism within the US government and recognized that they would be a major threat to our democracy. Too bad his son is becoming an accessory to with these fascists.

7. Starting to think the same thing myself
For him to be on national television justifying the outing of a CIA operative working on WMDs is just amazing.

He is neo-con lickspittle.
