1. Man, I really hate these posts
not because of the OP. But just the the reminder that all this pain and suffering, death and destruction, should never have happened. And, that....well, it isn't likely to get any better for quite a while.

I always think about what these people, meaning both the dead and the injured, meant to others. They were -and are- all somebody's son or daughter. Husbands, wives, fathers, mothers. They all had loved ones. They all could have gone on to great things, be it raising a family or maybe curing some disease. Nobody will know now. That not knowing, the loss of so much potential. It haunts me.

And, I hope it haunts our administration and Congress until the moment they all leave this world. I hope it tears them up inside.

2. They died so * could have Saddam's pistol on his wall and not in a museum.
Also dying to make sure we get Iraq's oil so that HP and IBM and the other megacorps can take our jobs and move them to India and China.

That is what people are dying for. That is the freedom for which they are fighting.

6. They didn't "die". They "sacrificed their lives". More PC, you know.
Undoubtedly singing "God Bless America" and trying to salute Dubya as their lives bled away.

More likely they were screaming in agony and praying to live just a bit longer. They didn't die "heroes". They died cannon fodder to further the ambitions of politicians who want to show how tough they are by shedding other peoples blood.

I hate the glorification of war.
