Edited on Tue Jul-26-05 02:47 PM by Zorbuddha
I began yesterday, to hear Charlotte Iserbyte (sp) (Deliberate Dumbing Down of America)

Will Thomas is on today.

They are about to discuss the new microwave weapons.

2. read some of Iserbytes columns
she may be a former reganite BUT she speaks out more than most dems against the current WH occupants..

lots of dems voted for ronnie r in 1980...regan increasingly looks liberal to me compared to son of a bush

3. Oddly enough, Republicans can speak insightful truth
and sometimes do.

I don't hold anyone's politics against them in their honest efforts to cut through the nonsense. It's spin and propaganda that concern me politically. That and bad policy.

Iserbyte is onto something real with her dumbing down theories. It is something that has concerned me all my life - the anti-intellectuallizing of America. It seems like a diabolical plot, to me. I've always respected the way Europeans discuss real issues throughout their lives, around the dinner table etc, and grow into their mature intellects far more easily than Americans.

I value Iserbyte's work, I don't necessarily line up with her opinions.
