Besides getting Clinton elected, has the DLC done ANYTHING good?
I am inclined to think not.

They seem willing to slightly inconvenience big business on our behalf, but when it comes to BIG issues, like health insurance, drug prices, trade agreements, and energy, they seem to side with business against us.

If I'm wrong, give me some examples.

2. You're wrong.
Ross Perot and Clinton's campaigning ability got Clinton elected. Not the DLC and certainly not their philosophies.

4. Okay. my question still stands in terms of issues--their electoral
"success" is pretty well proven.

8. A new party
Until the DLC is thrown off for who they cover for; the corporates, we will see republithugs in for as long as people allow it.

No real opposition to the republithugs why?

The DLC Dems are their players.

No, no good comes from the DLC, only more bad , bankruptsy bill medicare bill, Patriot act, acceptance of Roberts.

To be honest, BOTH parties are of, by, for the corporates, and AGAINST working people, and our rights.

Either Dean will revolt, and throw off the DLC, or this voice will not vote in '08.

Bogus elections, and an infiltrated Democratic party = failure.

7. The DLC didn't get Clinton elected. Ross Perot did.
Then, in '96, the Republicans tried the DLC strategy of running a "not too conservative" candidate against a booming (or was that Bubble'd economy?) and lost.

The difference being that the Republicans learned from their mistake and went back to their core "principles" (however loathesome they may be) and beat the crap out of the "not too liberal" pablum spouting, pandering, candidates ever since.

All one has to do to see the evidence what happens when running politically "safe" candidates is to look at the elections of '94, '98, 2000, 2002, and 2004.

10. Well, freepers are agreeing with the DLC rant
They agree that the DLC should get behind the invasion and support the president and his WOT. They had nothing but praise for the DLC and of course a lot of nasty remarks about Progressives.

So, the DLC is regarded highly by the far far right wingbat section of the RNC.

Appears the DLC overshot their move to the right and hit the far right endzone.

12. where is this freeper commentary?
The only thing that ever made me feel sorry for the DLC was that they were called liberal by the right, when they really aren't.
