Anyone else notice how upset the WH is about Dems wanting Roberts' records
Edited on Tue Jul-26-05 05:03 PM by jsamuel
First they "warn" about Dems wanting all his records.
Now they demand that there are not any delays.

This seems like Roberts is somehow their "ace in the hole". I wonder if they have thought this whole Treasongate thing out and know that they have to have Roberts on the SC in order to get out of this. Does anyone have any information about the SC that would back up or refute this theory?

2. I heard that, but is that really all it is?
I was very young when all that was happening and all I know about it is what I have looked at here and there. What would be in those records that would scare them more than the torture photos?

3. aren't most of those sealed
but George the Minor's decree? Which, of course, conveniently sealed his own records when he mismanaged Texas.

4. Absolutely.
When is the press going to realize what a gold mine in newspaper sales the Iran-Contra remake could be? They're missing their chance. Hey, reporters out there. This could be bigger than Monica. Go for it. Son covers up dad's crimes. What a story. I'll bet there is sex somewhere if you look hard enough (no pun intended).

6. Freak them... You know since Bush has been in office
he believes cause he is President, whatever he wants, he gets. This is crap. This man will sit on the highest court in the land for the next 20 or 30 years, we better find out who and what he is.... Screw Bush and his family and his cabinet and his administration and anyone else who interferes with the constitutional right of questioning his choice....

9. They are just pressing the Dems to make as big a deal as possible...
...out of the nominating process so it's as big a distraction to Plamegate/DSM as possible. Like when Hatch said something about hoping 'the dems don't pull their usual crap' on this. They're poking sticks into our cage and taunting us. I didn't notice that they're being any stingier with the papers than with past bush nominees but, like you suggest, they seem to be making a big deal upfront.

10. that's a good point, it could be that they are poking us so we MAKE NOISE
about this and fog up the media with stories about Roberts instead of the treason.

12. Roberts was involved in DSM/Rove/Liegate
He was also involved in the Fla Election theft in 2000. He is deep in the BFEE's pockets.

That is why they don't want to release the record's...

As far as the SCOTUS, I'm not sure what he could do...except rule in favor of the BFEE on any motions that get that far.

13. Didn't Roberts also advise Jeb on Selection 2000? He was in on the heist.
We should get those docs.
