"Struggle Against Violent Extremists"
I heard that this will be the new slogan instead of War On Terrorism.
Maybe they will use this now so that they cannot be charged with War Crimes since there is no longer a war just a struggle?

1. It was such a struggle getting the jam jar open this morning
Wonder is this little struggle of BushCo's will take too long, there are many other things to do.

Nice to know the war is over and we can all relax.

2. I thought it was TSAIEWDNBIFSA WHTUTAAWTT TSTCOTFW
("the struggle against ideological extremists who do not believe in free societies and who happen to use terror as a weapon to try to shake the conscience of the free world" - Bush, 2004)

3. "the struggle against ideological extremists"
If that is the new struggle then it would mean that the Bush Regime intends to challenge the Ameikan Fundies, as well, uh...right?

4. All violent Extremists??????
So the war in Iraqi will fight all violent extremists? Will the FBI and CIA start to focus on the KKK, or the Nazis??? How about those religious wackos who have murdered doctors and attempted to murder health care providers, the anti-choice violent extremists? Brush's only concern is Muslim violent extremists, he will just ignore the Christian ones that helped to put him into office. A pile of shit by any other name is still a pile of shit.

5. What if the Kerry Administration made this change in policy?
The Echo Machine would be running full steam: Democrats are appeasers; Democrats don't want to acknowledge we are at war; Democrats can't be trusted to fight a real war on terrorism; Democrats are being politically correct; Democrats have no "moral clarity".

Ugh.

6. The original enemy in Iraq had little if anything to do with terrorism...
...so I guess they are deliberately using the much vaguer "Violent Extremists" so they can't be pinned down.

7. Smart language actually....it implies long term and continuing
that people must stay focused...it implies hardship and sacrifice....but without the word war.

That it's a bunch of bullshit doesn't prevent it from being effective propaganda.

People react harshly to long term war....but they can accept long term struggle. People understand struggle.

What we have to do is make sure people understand that long term struggle MEANS long term war in this case.

9. Would that include Republicans?
Most of them tend to be rather violent and extremist, after all...

10. I bet they're
"Maybe they will use this now so that they cannot be charged with War Crimes since there is no longer a war just a struggle?"

shaking in their shoes about the possibility of war crimes. I'm sure it keeps them awake at night. Yep, really scared.

11. Struggle?
Since when do we "struggle"? Commies have "struggles", we don't. If there's a problem -- poverty, illiteracy, drugs, you name it -- red-blooded two-fisted humdingers declare WAR, it's the American Way. Is Bush going wobbly on us?
