Atlanta Journal-Constitution: GOP should probe Rove, but won't
Sometimes the hometown paper gets it just right.

Certainly, the contrast with the Clinton era could not be more stark. Back in the '90s, then-House Speaker Newt Gingrich promised to use the committees under his control to make life miserable for President Clinton, and he kept that promise, starting investigations into everything but the president's underwear choice. In fact, you got the sense that the only way Clinton thwarted even that line of inquiry was by volunteering the information to an MTV audience.

SNIP

Republicans have claimed that Wilson wasn't a real CIA agent, a claim the CIA itself refutes. They also point out that Rove never identified Wilson by name, a rather silly excuse since federal law makes it a crime to identify an agent in any way whatsoever.

However, if GOP leaders truly have faith in the validity of those arguments, a committee investigation would give them the chance to defend their stance in a public forum.

For some reason, they decline.

1. Because they're shameless, arrogant, vile, power-hungry, heartless...
disgusting party-line whores who don't give a damn about truth or doing the right thing, only about preserving their tenuous position of power.

:grr:

3. The media has been catching on that ...
there's something wrong there in the WH. Too bad it took them so long. But it's good that they're finally getting it, a bit at a time, at too slow a pace.
