20. Ahhhh
I see, I dig.

The only thing is that I don't know how smart it is to lump those two conflicts together, because most of the country would not agree that Afghanistan was unjustified.

16. Someone should take that film clip of Bush joking about missing WMDs
Edited on Wed Jul-27-05 03:10 PM by deutsey
and intersperse it with images of flag-draped coffins and military funerals.

Maybe every time the assholes in the audience laugh at Bush's little jokes, show a bereaved family crying at graveside.

7. Really? Icasualties has 1785 (which is bad enough)
Has something really horrible happened to make the number jump that dramatically?

right now on icasualties.org It gives the names of Guardsmen killed in last few days in article on right of their page, but the names aren't yet listed under period details.

Edited to add the article here with a personal "fuck you" to the authors of the article. If you read it, you will understand. http://www.13wmaz.com/news/top_stories.aspx?storyid=16447
The Department of the Army has identified four Georgia National Guardsmen killed in action in Iraqi on Sunday, May 24, 2005. They are identified as:

Staff Sgt. Carl Ray Fuller, 44, Covington, GA

Sgt. James Ondra Kinlow, 35, Thomson, GA

Sgt. John Frank Thomas, 33, from Valdosta, GA

Spc. Jacques Earl Brunson, 30, Americus, GA

The four soldiers were members of Company B, 2nd Battalion, 121st Infantry Regiment, 48th Brigade Combat Team. They were killed when their HUMVEE was struck by an improvised explosive device while on patrol near Baghdad, Iraq.

"These Soldiers died doing what they believed in. They died in pursuit of freedom for Iraqi citizens, and to protect Americans from terrorism," said Maj. Gen. David B. Poythress, Georgia's Adjutant General. "This is a tragic time for all of us, but we will come together as a National Guard family to provide whatever support we can for the families and loved ones of these brave heroes."

More than 7,000 members of the Georgia Army and Air National Guard have mobilized in the past three years to support the Global War on Terror. They include more than 3,000 members of the 48th Brigade Combat Team who deployed to Iraq in May, as part of the largest mobilization of Georgia National Guard Soldiers into a combat zone since World War II.

12. US (Iraq) deaths = 1785; US (Afghanistan) deaths = 214
Edited on Wed Jul-27-05 03:06 PM by unhappycamper
1785 + 214 = 1999
