Who was really outed in the Plame affair?
Joe Wilson was the Ambassador to two nations that have uranium and also Ambassador to Iraq immediately preceding the first Gulf War.

Is one of the reasons he has so much information at his fingertips that he sent himself on the trip? This seems so obvious to me and makes a lot of this a bit more sensical. "His wife sent him" is just the type of immasculating playground taunting that the Repubs so often resort to. Of course he can't say, "Fuck that, I send my wife places. I have an open portfolio and go where I need to go" Look at his resume and tell me he isn't a Robert Ludlum character. It also makes me wonder if he is essentially someone throwing himself on a grenade for Tenet or the real intelligence people in the CIA.

The evidence:

"helped direct Africa policy for the National Security Council under President Bill Clinton"

"As a result, in 1990, he also became the last American diplomat to meet with Saddam Hussein "

"Ambassador Wilson was the Political Advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of United States Armed Forces, Europe, 1995-1997."

Early in his career Wilson worked in South Africa which is believed to have huge bombs that make big clouds.

He won the William R. Rivkin Award http://www.afsa.org/awards/awardwinners_rivkin.cfm

Which reads like a Whos Who of "Mission Chiefs" and others, including its first recipient, John Bushnell. Google him and then order a martini, shaken not stirred.

In short, Wilson seems to have a knack for going places that are brewing trouble spots or possible conduits for very heavy elements, the ones at the far end of the Periodic Table.

Don't get me wrong, Valerie Wilson was obviously a NOC and the "law firm" she worked for was huge in the Arab world but damn, look at Wilson's resume, where he was stationed and when and it just makes the whole thing look a lot more spy like.

The Bush family is so damn Shakespearean.

1. It is probably none of our business.
I don't want to go there. If Wilson wanted me to know, he would tell me. Wilson was not outed by anyone as an intelligence agent. Even if he were, it would not be a topic for discussion on this forum in my view. Besides, it would make no difference with regard to Treasongate.

2. I understand your point
Im just wondering if what the judges are seeing, what one called "the plot against Wilson" is the more sinister part of what is going on. If Rove was sending a shot across his bow about outing people, expecting Wilson to blink. Wilson didn't blink and now the whole thing has exploded. Wilson is toast now because he is just too high profile. Everyone his wife knows or has known has been blown. That is the treason part of treasongate.
