8. Republican Charles Taylor, NC-11, caved to Bush

The only NC congressional rep supporting this piece of crap a week ago was Sue Myrick in the 9th. Bush came to Gaston County in her district to try to peel away some votes. He was going to go to Republican Howard Coble's district, and Coble told him that there was no way he would change his vote to "yes" because Coble's mom spent her life working in a textile mill.

Taylor's was one of the last votes to come in. They must have been making him all kinds of promises for the last hour or so. He has some shady dealings that have come to light, and now he is going to be running against a former professional football player, Heath Shuler.

61. Duncan Hunter voted no

I posted a Care2 petition on my blog several weeks ago, and after I signed it Duncan sent a letter stating he would vote no on CAFTA. He was the only California Republican who crossed party lines and kept his word.

I disagree with a lot of things Hunter does, but this time I have to give him props.
