I bet you Bush sells off the Crawford ranch when he leaves office
Bush is about to do the cowboy thing again as he embarks for his month long vacation soon. The ranch is just a prop to make him look like a tough talkin' Texan, a straight shooting, no nonsense leader. He's never been known as a rancher or a country boy, as he bought the ranch in the 2000 campaign. I'd be willing to bet you all that he sells off the ranch in 2009 and shuts himself away in an exclusive gated community in the Dallas or Houston burbs.

2. You know the one thing that amazed me about that ranch...
it's totally energy efficient, it operates on geothermal power.

And it's not a ranch - no cattle. I think it was a pig farm before he bought it.

4. no he won't
Bush *knows* about peak oil; he knows what's coming :scared: . That ranch is a super effiecient passive-solar with geothermal heating and cooling.

12. I think it would be interesting to see how many
wealthy folks own a self-sufficient set-up like Shrubs.

more interesting would be to find out how many in the administration do.

8. No income tax in Texas.
Why do you think Poppy moved there (and had a hotel room as his address for a LONG time)?

13. Start at Prescott Bush
This family has been part of the oil elitists for decades. He is no stranger with the Bin Laden family. They are all born of the priviliged class dependent on oil revenues. Big oil money got Bush the presidency along with fancy footwork suckering in the conservatives.

15. yep
after Poppy's term I wasn't surprised to see the shrub being groomed. As for how he actually got there...? The usual way, with a little help from his friends -- the Supreme Court and Diebold and Turd Blossom. Oh yeah and RW talk radio and Jerry Falwell and the lapdog media. And etc. etc. etc.

A vast rightwing conspiracy created the President Bush Puppet.

16. will bush ever let go of the oval office?
will the bushies have had enough of their power-and-control freakness?
once a power and control freak--always a power and control freak, except perhaps changes can be made through therapy and insight none of which the bushies appear to be capable of.
