There are SO many bad things going on right now, that many folks get distracted. It's not that they don't care; it's information overload.

10. I think Veterans for Peace have the best shot at credibility with

conservatives who are just on the verge of dumping Bush's War in favor of peace - which I think is a sizable percentage of conservatives right now. I think this is an awesome group who is very important to ending this war.

They do not carry any baggage left over from 30 years ago.

And all good Bushbots have been trained to respect and support our military.

If your attempting to organize more vets, you should try Pendleton since that's probably where most of the "combat" vets are coming from.

I can't make it to the convention (too far) but I did formally send in my membership money last month, after wearing the teeshirt for a year. :)

Sorry if I implied they hadn't completed the membership stuff, I didn't mean it that way. It came in the mail shortly after I sent it the packet.

My local group is pretty active. We provided some crowd control and security for the Iraqi Labor Union Tour (which actually was just a matter of going to the event and sitting in the audience, because there were no disruptors at all), marched in the memorial day parade (and got huge applause) and are working on some counter-recruitment efforts now.
