What if Clinton had left Boy Scouts dropping like flies?
I'll tell you, in the words of Joe Biden, "they would have torn his skin off."

4. he was scheduled to appear at their Jamboree
but he bailed out, he was busy overseeing the arm-twisting for Cafta.

Meanwhile, the scouts were all dressed up in full uniform, and dozens of them fell sick from the heat.

He rescheduled for Sunday, but then cancelled that too.

6. At the risk of being called a troll and a traitor..
Anyone who lives in the DC are knows how bad the storms were last night... I'm pretty sure that is why he didn't go

9. That would make sense.
If the storms were so bad why did the scaouts stand around outside? Were they far away from DC?

14. I can see where you're coming from SE, and while you're trying to use
reason to understand this problem the issue with that is we're talking about bush*.

Given all your info regarding the weather conditions etc it is perfectly reasonable why someone couldn't/wouldn't make the trek from DC to where the Boy Scouts were, but this isn't "someone" it is the President, who has in essence limitless resources at his touch. This is the same prick* who had an Aircraft Carrier hang out for an extra day so he* could take a plane ride out for a fucking PHOTO OP.

40 miles via Presidential Chopper in the rain? Big fucking deal, he*s a heartless prick and he* made the choice of political stunt on Capitol Hill versus a SCHEDULED appearance with constituents.

Leave no child behind, my ass.

NOTE: Rant directed at shrub* NOT YOU.

15. I don;t want to be put in the position of defending Shrub on anything
SO...how about I defend the Secret Service who probably nixed the trip...

It wasn't just rain...very severe storms roared through here last night...high winds, hail, tons of lightening...All right at the time he was scheduled to leave...

However I do agree that he is using this for political gain and could probably give two shits about what happened at the camp...he is so insincere you can't ever believe what he say are his motivations for doing anything...

If it was Clinton, I would say go, because whatever else you say about him, a lack of compassion and empathy was not a failing of his!!!

16. I don't like to be in the defending shrub camp either and I hope you
don't think I was trying to do that to you. It seemed to me like you were doing a great job of simply defending the decision based on your knowledge of the situation, not that you were defending bush*.

Bottom line is, bush* COULD have found a way to keep his* promise but since it wasn't a Pioneers Meeting/Fundraiser, why should he* bother?

18. Yes, now if only
there was some sort of invention that could have sent the information that he wasn't coming so that the kids didn't have to stand and
wait.

the follow up. If only some sort of device the likes of which you describe were available in the 21st century!

7. They'd make up some story about him getting a $200 haircut,
and a $20 blokey, while making the poor young patriots sweat their lives out below his circling plane.

Why would they want to wait in the sun all day for that rat bastard anyways? They should be smart enough to realize that Bush is not worth it.

23. the adult leadership is to blame
they're incompetent...which is exactly the way I remember them.

I dabbled in scouting way back in the eighties as a young lad. I remember my fellow scouts as annoying brats and the leaders as hapless losers who always had their arms around the scouts, totally creepy. This was in a red state. I got the fuck out of there as fast as I could. I remember them as being losers and asshats and creepy wierdos.

So what happened with the four adult scoutmasters being electrocuted and then this does not surprise me in the least.

I'm sure there are some good people in the scouts, but from my experience there are a lot of creeps and wierdos in the scouts as well.
