My daughter works part-time in a local grocery store
They still have Sudafed on the shelves.
However, she says that she is noticing a HUGE increase in "some of the usual suspects" who general buy large quantities of Sudafed.
They are buying Bayer Aspirin (brand specific)...in large quantities.
Anyone have any ideas of why?
Possibly trying to find a substitute for Sudafed?

on Methamphetamines.

Ohio = meth capital of the midwest

8. The Meth epidemic. In Iowa, you now have to buy most antihistamines
Edited on Thu Jul-28-05 02:34 PM by Pirate Smile
from the pharmacist. It is kept behind the counter, they run a check on you to see how much you have purchased in the past month - drivers license is required, you can only buy one box of anything within a 24 hour period, you have to pay at the pharmacy - can't pay with the rest of your groceries.

It is a pain. You now feel like a criminal for having allergies but I guess it has become a huge problem.

This winter will be interesting when everybody gets sick and I need different kinds and types of medicines for all the kids and my hubby and I.

Oh, well.

16. Well, I take Coricidin HBP because it doesn't contain ephedrine
Yet Walgreens keeps it behind the counter, too.

11. I just called a dentist for a bad toothache because a friend said they
would give you a drug to take before they do any heavy work.

No longer. The government (she tells me) makes the dentists go to school for several weeks to give this pill. So all I can have is the gas (which is worthless for me).

14. I used to work at a convenience store...
And there was a guy who would come in almost every night and buy two bottles of Ephedrine. he was a nice guy, but he obviously a bum/loser/hermit kind of character. Only when I left that job did I realise what he may have actually been doing with that Ephedrine.

15. if they're buying just aspirin probalby not.
unless it's an ancillary - you specifically need the decongestant (ephedrine/pseudoephedrine) to make methampehtamine.
