What will the Iraqi war memorial be like?
It's inevitable that one day a new monument will arise in Washington, DC, to honor the dead of this unimaginable march of folly.

Will it be conceived and constructed by people who realize the evil that we are doing in that country? Or by some wrap-youselves-in-the-flag neocon who thinks this was a glorious crusade? How will those of us who opposed the war react to it?

Will it also honor the dead in Iraq?

I have no answers. I just wish to hell this was never going to be necessary...or a reality.

3. It's going to be a statue depicting Saddam's statue tumbling
and with GI's included...

In other words, much like the war itself, the memorial will also be a lie

4. A giant finger...
...or pen, whichever you prefer. The symbolism will be the same, though.

Has it been definitely ruled out that it wasn't a thumb?

7. Since war supporters like to ignore the war dead...
a memorial won't be built until years after it ends. Which will give plenty of time for reflection. I'd suspect it'd be much like the Vietnam memorial.

8. a gigantic pit
a gigantic pit, filled with steaming excrement and blood, into which corporations are tossing in dead soldiers on one end and decanting oil and money on the other end, as they trample on pages of the constitution and sodomize the citizens and reporters lying prostrate at their feet.
