Impressed with Major Hackett on Tweety's 'show', he is not some ass-kisser
I am a little mixed on Tweety's questions but liked the way Major Hackett said "what you see is what you get" --- and not some political bullshit that we have to endure... I really hope he pulls this one off.

I donated to his campaign and hope others do as well...

The Major was honest with his answers and that he respects the office of the president and by veiled insinuation not the person currently holding it (*ush)... We need more military Democrats to step up to these chickenshit chicken-hawk conservatives that their accusation against liberals and Democrats are un-American and without merit.

3. Hack was good
I'm just worried that with Clark, Hack, etc. being popular with Dems we have too much of a military culture being promoted. If that makes any sense to you.

4. Yes, it does make sense to me
Is this what we have now - military leaders?

But these are strange times, as I find myself siding with the CIA (!!) in a power struggle in Washington.

8. Well with me I figure
it's either the CIA or some lunatic who can press the button. I'd go with the CIA too.

5. I have the same fear
that our party will morph into what used to be the Republican party (under Dwight Eisenhower) and the party of FDR will be gone.

7. I understand & share your concern. We have to think of it as a credibilit
credibility issue. This man (& other militarily experienced Dems) have the benefit of actual experience to influence their decision making.

Remember how it tempered Eisenhower as a president?

And I think is is no coincidence that many more Dems than Repubs have actually served in the armed svcs - they obviously learned something from those experiences.

9. I see it having an opposite effect
With so many military personnel and leaders coming in to the Democratic Party, I think they will only increase their respect for limited use of military action when it is absolutely necessary rather then attacking any old country for profit and political gain like the Chicken hawks do.

We will be able to put forward progressive ideas while respecting the military enough to try and find peaceful solutions rather then aggressive ones (and still helping our veterans adjust back to civilian life with benefits and insurance).

If that makes sense :)

10. Better military Dem leaders than
fascist awol & chickenhawks misleaders, imo.

And, yes, it makes sense to me, too, but I think we need leaders for the people from inside the ranks..in addition to Barbara Boxer, Howard Dean, et al.

11. HACKETT Was Outstanding. Tweety Was a Hack and Hacks a Cough
He's been dry-coughing for months--what's he got? And the Major smacked him back over and over, ending with, "Next time be nicer to me, Chris."

But even better, later, the Dem spokesperson, ____ ROSEN(?), gave him a REAL smackdown. The panel was her, MOLINARI, and someboy from a magazine. They were yammering over the proposed withdrawal from Iraq right in time for the next elections. There were actually points made that not only the WMD rationale was fake but that democracy cannot be imposed at gunpoint. Tweety said he had been FOR the Iraq attack based on that 2nd FAKE reason, and ROSEN smacked him down GOOD. She said, "You and Judith MILLER." Hahahah.
