I've been reading her since the 80's...and she's probably the foremost journalist when it comes to covering and gauging things in the Arab world. For the most part she's Conservative...and was a big backer of the Raygun policies in the 80's (thus the way she punted about the U.S./Saddam connection).

She knows how destructive manchild's policies are in that region and like many of the old-line Repugs...like Brent Scowcroft, are aghast at what junior's done to their handiwork.
