Hello. I am not a stranger here though I post only occasionally these days. DU is a great and valuable resource for more reasons that I could possibly list here. That is why I am making my request here and now.
The folks at Sensibly Eclectic would like to enlist some of you to help us build our site, content, and readership.
First off, we have kept SE updated and topical for a full year now! Secondly, the two top admins, myself as Dirk and my good friend, Longhair, are far Left Liberal/Progressives and we are both members here at DU for some time now. We also enjoy creativity and humor, as well as diversity.
We feel that it is time to push SE over the edge now, considering our steadfast efforts and dedication to making the blog/site noteworthy. We are getting close to 2k hits a day and we have enough bandwidth, donated by another good friend, FlyinV, to cover expansion. We want you there while we take it over that threshold.
This is not as much of a plug as it is a reaching out for some valued help from those of you have the time and inclination to get involved.
While we do post many, many links to timely and valuable articles and news, we also strive to add as much original commentary, rants, raves, variety, and even graphics, as time permits.
We do want more and more readers and that is coming along smoothly. Links to us are very much appreciated, and comments to the posts at SE are really the best tip jar we could hope for.
However, now we would like to extend an open invitation to those of you who are very on the ball about current issues, etc. We are not restrictive in the sense that we want eclectic material to round out our overtly political content. We are willing to create blogs for qualified contributors, (or correspondents as we like to refer to them as). If you like to write, have great links to share, do great Photoshopped material, or if you have a particular field of interest that you can relay and relate, we really want you on board.
We strongly feel that Sensibly Eclectic is about to go over a line into a much more popular spot in the Net rankings and so, your help would be appreciated.
Simply message me here with your details and we can possibly arrange a blog, (where the entries you create will merge with the main blog) for you to contribute through. We do reserve the right to use our discretion here, but I think anyone here at DU who is active, and intelligent, is worth a shot as a contributor.
