NPR: Tens of thousands of "insurgents" have been "killed or captured"

Their top-of-the-hour intro over the music bed said something that I don't believe I've heard any MSM outlet state: "The Insurgency in Iraq is strengthening even after tens of thousands have been killed or captured."

We know that bush labels everyone who resists his crusade, including innocent women and children, as an "insurgent." But I was quite shocked to hear the state media make an admission like this. Maybe they feel it's safe, as this is "news dump" Friday. I wonder if they'll ever admit how many dozens of "tens of thousands" we have really murdered?

2. some cauliflower shouldered a-hole

proclaimed the number of the beast to be 50,000 killed or captured last week. Odd number as previously the entire insurgency was just a few thousand saddam deadenders, furry fighters and tourists and now they have 50,000 killed or captured.

My guess is that if the 50,000 isn't just pulled out of the air, 40,000 would be the number of victims currently detained in our concentration camps in Iraq.

3. I heard the full story. Really quite good.

An average of 60 attacks a day by the "failed insurgency" and Rummy saying that the "insurgents" don't have the support of the people.

4. The real pisser is that they don't even seem to grasp the

implications of their own statements! If the insurgents are launching an average of up to 60 attacks a day, nation-wide, they have to be supported by a huge segment of the population; they simply could not pull this off with this kind of consistency without massive support from the citizenry. But they seem to think that these insurgents are all super heroes who can do impossible things on a daily basis and all we can say is "we ain't got no Kryptonite!" What utter bullshit...

5. Every dead Iraqi male between 16 and 60 is an insurgent.

That's how you up the body count of enemy dead, and reduce the civilian deaths at the same time.

Not that we're counting, of course.
