"Over There" Anyone see it yet?
Edited on Fri Jul-29-05 09:55 AM by nonews
It is on the Fox, regular channel, by Steven Boscho("Hill St Blues," "NY PD Blue"). I thought it was pretty good. Anyone else see it?

3. was sick so I missed the flamefest
what I saw leads me to believe the war is over... why I say that? There was a fairly good anti war under current in it... oh and the moulage kit they used, I ain't watching it again, the flashbacks were a doozy, but it reminded me of China Beach

5. Yes, we saw it
I won't be watching again. When the one soldier was talking about the army paying for him to go to school so he could play football, I thought they should have put a buzzard on his shoulder. When he said that, I immediately knew he'd be losing a leg. I have a problem watching it while our kids are dying for real "over there".

On the other hand, since we're being "protected" from the real situation, it may not be a bad thing for people to see.

7. Cliche War movie.
They pulled out every old trick in the book. Really, the writers must be hard up for inventive things to do in War movies, as you could see each "twist" coming from miles away.

Politics aside, it's not a very good show, mostly because of the cheap writing.

8. poor football soldier
you're right...could see that one coming; but I kind of like the 'human' factor for the background. Of course, I'm a sucker for a good war movie.
