Peter King (R-Sellout) sold out the labor movement.
Pete King is a congressman from the third district in NY. He voted for CAFTA. King used to stand for the labor movement. He loves to tell the unions how much he supports them and then what does he do? He sells them out on this bill. King needs to go. It's going to be hard, but someone motivated could make it happen.

6. I think some are working on getting a campaign going.
You should check out www.kingwatch.blogspot.com. It's a good place to start.

13. Is Babylon in King's District?
My daughter told me a few days ago that a friend of hers, who just got his Grad Degree in Poly Sci from SUNY Cortland, wants to run in his district. All I know is that he lives in Babylon and is a Democrat. Fresh young face? Who knows? He asked my daughter if I could help him. I live in Selden, formerly in Smithtown, so I am not very familiar with the political landscape of that area.

2. He's not a sellout, he's a Republican.

I have more ire for the 14 Dems who sold out America to the multi-nationals like we were sheep to be sheared.

I do agree that anyone with an "R" after their name should go.

3. Is there anyone
ready to oppose him in '06? He's been around for so long that people just vote for him by habit now. He'll need a big local name with some money and support to be successful.

8. People are working on finding someone.
He has money, but a real campaign can cause him lots of problems.

4. I do not know WHY they keep reelecting him in that district
Peter King is the lone Republican in a sea of Democrats here. We got rid of Lazio and Forbes. Why not King?

5. good question
I contacted Nassau's Dems and got this answer:

We have not yet determined who the candidate running against King will be. We are constantly recruiting candidates and if you have any ideas or suggestions, please share them with us.

While it sounds like you are more interested in next year's races, have to given any thought to getting involved on a campaign this year? Tom Suozzi is up for re-election, and we have a lot of exciting races around Nassau County. Please give me a call if you're interested, 294-3366.

Executive Director

10. Ryan Cronin is on his way out.

There is a new executive director named Matt. The funny thing is that if we found someone, NCDC would probably try to challenge that person because they aren't hand picked. They did some really dirty shit in the DA's race. They went out of their way to get their candidate over another committed candidate (which might be OK on it's own). Then the paperwork for their (republican) candidate somehow got screwed up and the person was eliminated. Did I mention that they wanted to endorse the sitting repub DA from the get go? Uh huh

9. Lazio left his seat.
I am not familiar with Forbes. It's very difficult to run against and incumbent. 95% of them get reelected. No one has run a serious campaing against him since the first one.

12. Yes, Lazio gave up his seat
and a Democrat, Steve Israel, won it. Difficult unseating an incumbent? Well, Tim Bishop (unknown Southampton College Professor), Democrat, unseated incumbent Steve Forbes in 2000 and won reelection last year. But then, Forbes was a big supporter of the Clinton Impeachment and there was a big backlash against that. I remember he went on local TV and complained about all the hate mail he was getting. You get what you deserve, I guess.

16. Nothing Peter King says or does surprises me anymore....
Especially after learning that he is on Alexandra Pelosi's political film saying about the 2004 election: "It's all over but the counting. And we'll take care of the counting."
