I have a sad feeling that things are starting to come to a head with regards to the Iraq war fiasco..It looks like almost a domino effect is starting to take place...The daily deaths and wounding of American soldiers, no WMDs, and the latest trip to the United Nations by Bush (still belligerent) looking for help which is not forthcoming....The anti-Iraq war demonstrations have started up again around the world...We had one here in Ottawa yesterday....Not to mention Putin who came for a visit but left without promising help... .I say I feel sad, because even though I've been against the war from the beginning, my heart goes out to all you good American people who will have to bear the cost, (in every sense of that word), of this insane war....I hear daily on American TV, someone say "we have to get other countries to share in the cost" or "we need troops from other countries."....It's not that easy, in my opinion...We other countries demonstrated world-wide against this war and now that it's turned into such a mess I believe most countries will be very reluctant to send soldiers to become sitting duck targets...My country has donated $300 million to help rebuild Iraq (which we could use here in Canada for many domestic projects), that's fine, but I don't want our young soldiers going to Iraq. We also have troops in Afghanistan.....As I'm writing this Stephanopolis is saying "Colin Powell who is in charge of getting help in Iraq" will be on his show....Do they really think all they have to do is ask or should I say demand?.....I don't know how this is all going to end, but it sure is a hell of a mess.... :loveya:
