2. thanks! Made explicit much of which was implicit in the film...
Having seen it repeatedly since the age of 9 (when it first came out!), the website makes me want to break out the DVD!

Said a lot of the same things my "Intro to Film" professor said when I was in College. Not bad. I like the animations.

7. When 2001 came out all of my friends said I had to see it. All of them
by the way went to see it stoned. I went to see it once, straight, and thought it ridiculous but I felt as if there was something wrong with me. So I went again, straight. Same thing. Even a third time on tv. I understood about the monolith, and evolution, and even how man's own tools brought about his demise. I know why I didn't like it. If found it positively boring.

Now if Kubrick created it in a 10 minute flash presentation, ss this wonderful movie was done, I would have given him a standing ovation!
