3. Ritter is a republican so that is always a red flag to democrats.
That said; I know that Will Pitt believes and trusts Scott Ritter. Thats good enough for me! :)

I want to trust Scott.....I want to hear the facts. Will Pitt association facilitates that option.

7. That is an intersting question.
I don't think Scott will be invited to the White House Turkey Dinner!

If not, he should re-evaluate his position. He talks the talk anyways.

9. Yep! But where are the folks condemning Ritter for his past...
Republican involvement? Answer: Ritter doesn't threaten their man for the white house.

10. No, that's not true. It's because Ritter has consistantly been aginst the
travesty in Iraq. Also, As far as I know, he doesn't work for the military-industrial complex like Clark does. To me the netry of Clark, a Republican, into the race when it is becoming apparent that bush may lose is just another case of the Republicans floating yet another DINO to maintain their rule.

15. that is not the POINT
I thank Scott Ritter for the role he has played in exposing some truths. I would not vote for him for President.

The point is whether Clark is the kind of democrat I would vote for and how deep are his Liberal view points. Where is he on corporate citizenhood, univerasal healthcare, afirmative action. How would he or would he stand up for the things I believe in or would he compromise way too much?

Why should I trust him when I never even heard of him until the draft Clark people showed up here a few months ago? Why should I vote for a man who has a bipartisan organization running his campaign. I dislike everything republicans stand for these days. If these guys want to do something about the mess this country is in, let them start with their own party.

I am not saying I will never support Clark, however I wonder why we are being deluged with Clark operatives who have no purpose or opinion here about anything else. You all seem to function at DU only to promote your candidate, where as most of us, for better or worse, have a sense of who is who. When we talk about different candidates we know where each person is coming from. My suggestion to all the newbie Clark people is to get involved and get to know the rest of us. Give us some idea of where you stand on a whole range of issues and events.

4. Trust him more than I trust Bush & Co...
A lot of what he says is backed up by some in the U.N. and you know the Rove strategy of spreading the word that someone's "crazy." Personally, the minute I hear the Pubs and their minions calling someone "crazy" I know the person must awfully "sane" and that they have a good story to tell that Bush & Co. doesn't want getting out.

8. Could you blame him if he did?
Ritter certainly doesn't owe the 'Pukes anything after the way Team PNAC crucified him in the media (because they couldn't legitimately prove him wrong on Iraq)

If I was Ritter, I certainly wouldn't want to belong to a party that had done that to me.

11. About WMD in Iraq, yes...
...but I wouldn't ask for his opinion on domestic policy, nor would I advocate drafting him to run for the Democratic nomination for Presidential candidate.

12. I can add this much
I'm in Northern CA, and listen to www.kpfa.org, which is fairly far to the left of the dial, and that's their political bias as well. A program called www.FlashPoints.net airs nightly (5PM).

Dennis has had Ritter on the air many times, and he is vehemently opposed to the Bush regime, and to the war.

OTOH, his analysis of what was going to happen when we attacked was a bit overstated. I mean, just before the war, he was so over the top it was amazing. In his estimate, there 100,000 of these guys, and 200,000 of these troops, and 300,000 of these guys, and it went on and on. According to him, we were walking into a buzzsaw of monumental proportion.

Well, in reality the US troops rolled in, without facing Iraq troops anywhere near that proportion. And the buzzsaw turned out to be after the war, picking them off 1-2 at a time - not exactly what he had forecast. Ok, so his analysis intelligence is pretty rough. But he is WAY opposed to the neocons.

BTW, Flashpoint (link above) has links of archived shows online, very much worth listening to regularly.

13. I saw him in person.
I brought one of my classes to hear him speak. I trust him to discuss his area of expertise as a direct result of that experience, and also somewhat based upon things he's written.

14. Scott Ritter isn't running for the Democratic nomination...
...for President.

If he were, he wouldn't get my vote in the primaries.

Two short years ago the man who claims to have voted for Gore was doing fund raisers for Republicans, praising the neocon cabal of Rumsfeld, Rice, Cheney and Dubya and coming out in favor or massive irresponsible tax cuts. Then after 9-11 he became a consultant to Acxiom Data and used his contacts to facilitate contracts which were used to help build the CAPPS II ("Jet Blue") system.

Maybe you can ignore all of that but I have a hard time.

24. certainly adds to his credibility for me
and i used to be pissed at the arrogant prick when he was leading up the inspections over there talking tough to the cameras daily.

but now i respect him a great deal for sticking to his principals and doing his best to defend the constitution of OUR nation.

as more 'jar-heads' like him start standing up, bush is gonna whish they never stole the election for him.

peace

22. So should we trust any Repub running for president?
I disagree with your logic. I am not saying I trust or don't trust Clark and I think questions about his past party affiliations and his change of heart are legit as long as the answers and reasons he gives for such are accepted as well.

One can win the battle and lose the war.
