Why are the police and the suspect dressed in blue hazmat suits?

and a curtian placed over the front of the house so no one can see anything. What are they hiding?

3. I heard somewhere it's to protect forensic evidence
Police wear them to not contaminate the scene and the perps wear them to keep the evidence on them and intact from outside contamination.

Seems feasible to me.

call them "forensics suits".

It sort of makes sense, if the guys had bomb-making materials, then traces could be found on the clothes and they wouldn't want the clothes to be contaminated. They would also want the clothing to be isolated so the defense couldn't claim that the clothing picked up particles from the police or outside contamination.

I'm guessing they're talking about microscopic particles here....
