Why I hope Bush makes a recess appointment of Bolton

Folks this is the best thing that could happen for us. Number one it gives the Dems some great ammunition to further attack the credibility of the White House. Second, it keeps alive all the issues raised about Bolton lying on his Senate confirmation report and the fact that the White House refused to release the documents requested by the Senate Committee Dems. Third, this last fact will also tie into the refusal of the White House to have certain documents released on their Supreme Court nominee John Roberts. Get the picture - refusal to release requested documents!! There is a clear pattern of withholding vital information to the confirmation process. Translated.. their credibility is about to go into the toilet bowl and Bush's approval rating is going to go right with it.

The reason to oppose Bolton for the job of UN Ambassador is because the son of a bitch is unqualified for the job and hostile to the organization. He would be much more than an embarrassment to the United States, he would actively work to the detriment of the United Nations. That far and away trumps any political gain we might see as Democrats. Bolton must be opposed for the good of the country, and if that's not the very best thing for the Democratic Party, well, so be it. The party is not the point here, the nation and our place in the world is.

Bush is threatening to by-pass the legal process of gaining Senate approval. This alone makes him look bad. But remember the whole reason Bolton was not confirmed is that Bush and the White House refused to turn over a number of critical documents that were requested by the Senate Committee Dems. Now Bush is saying that they are not going to turn over certain documents regarding the confirmation hearing on SC nominee John Roberts. What kind of message is this going to send to the American people. Right now Bush is tanking in the polls. I think this stupid move will take him down another big notch.
