Visiting the bad lands over there at the FreeFacists(Republic), I noticed 2 things.
1. They are not even looking at this race. Nothing on the main page, no activities planned.
2. They dont like Jean Schmidt, and many are voting for Hackett.
Please tell me this is good news!!

Although you said that you wanted to hear from a Schmidt RINO supporter (which I am not), I thought I would weigh in anyway. I am a former Republican, but left the party in 2004 because I didn't like the direction that the party was going in. On August 2nd, my vote will go to Paul Hackett. To me, he comes a heck of a lot closer to the Republican Party that I was once proud of being part of.
While I don't agree with Hackett on everything (ex. I'm not 100% pro-choice, particularly late term), I am convinced he is the best candidate. One thing is for sure...he IS sincere and doesn't mince words. I have met him several times and his message is the same regardless of who he is talking to. In a room full of the most "liberal of liberals", he will say without mincing words that he is pro-2nd Amendment. Even is 90% of the audience disagrees with him, he asserts his beliefs as strongly and with as much conviction as if he were "preaching to the choir" (eg. the NRA). Not everyone likes it, but I respect him for this.
On the subject of the War in Iraq, yes, he disagreed with our reasons for going to war. But now that we are there, he STRONGLY believes we need to get the job done. (Some of my more liberal friends are bothered by this).
Here's my two cents. I can respect someone who votes for Jean Schmidt because of her views of abortion. I wouldn't even try to talk someone out of voting for Schmidt if that is the reason. If, however, you are also weighing other issues, such as the war, fiscal responsibility, healthcare, then take a serious look at Hackett.
