For the Shrub to make Bolton a recess appointment would be illegal and unconstitutional.

I'm still not convinced that the 04 election was stolen, but it may have been. If the cons really do know how to steal elections, they really don't have to worry what people think about Bolton.

by the public. Even Trent Lott is against a recess appointment because the Senate is a co-equal branch of the government and should not be overlooked. There is also much thought that Bolton has been marginalized and will be ineffective.

A recess appointment by W will just reinforce the whole arrogance of this administration and their willingness to run the country from the WH.

which now appears to be that of diminishing if not removing the separation of powers among the branches. Bush and his far right wingers are leading us into a hell hole. The Senate may as well be deleted if it becomes only an echo of the presidency.

about what Ambassadors do, or the fact that Bush has appointed many old cronies to ambassador posts who know little or nothing about the countries to which they're assigned, much less the language.

If Bolton gets appointed the UN Ambassador, I hope someone antagonizes him and really gets his blood up and brings out his emotional instability. Hopefully, he'll end up giving the bird at the General Assembly or fly into a fit of anger and moon the entire Security Council. That would perhaps focus public attention on the fact that Bush appoints psychopaths to positions of influence, being one himself.

Sure, the appointment of Bolton will increase the divide between the left and the right among the politically aware. But it will largely go unnoticed by the general population, in my opinion.

They will pay attention. Remember, that the majority of U.S. citizens did NOT think we should go into Iraq without U.N. approval.

Regardless of what this administration and the far-right think, the U.N. is thought of as a way to bring peace in a united effort by the majority of people. They know some corrections need to be made but don't think an arrogant bully like Bolton can achieve those changes.

Congress on his disclosure form, he will bring additional disgrace on Shrub and all the Senators who insisted on him being the Ambassador.
