B.C. Marijuana seed dealer busted by DEA____________
ok so this is in the LBN.......

and i suck at posting links!
http://www.canada.com/vancouver/vancouversun/news/story.html?id=d3aa799f-0e0a-45b3-9a56-2ddea3403741

but I thought it was worthy of discussion here.

Why does the DEA spend a year and a half busting a SEED dealer?
Why does Canada allow the DEA to jump the line?
Sure he was selling seeds in the USA.
Is that what we as a country need to be spending resources on?

clue me in?

2. Smoke Crack, Not Weed!
Get with the program, you see private sales of marijuana cuts into the government-funded crack outreach program.

4. Agreed its a PR battle, for the "war on drugs" meme itself
Seek out individuals who operate outside the status-quo criminal networks and punish them and make examples of them. This BC weed seeds guy, and Chong's son's bong business, being two recent examples.

The intended audience for these public arrests is the public at large who see the "War on Drugs" with ambivalence due to its failure to stem actual drug production, importation or use. So it's outwardly a PR battle that seeks to enhance the political capital of the "War on Drugs" meme, For use in political struggles involving demogoguery and passionate appeals to get tough on the "drug problem"

5. Your point is not lost
It's kinda like going into Bolivia and destroying all the coca crops and going into Peru to destroy all the refineries. I think Bush 41 did that, though it may have been Reagan.

One problem. Peru was the source of most of the crops, while most of the refineries were in Bolivia.

Think they didn't know that?

Then, what, exactly, was the point?

To LOOK like they were doing the job. Not to actually do anything remotely productive.

6. It's all part of the "war" on drugs.
And as we know "war" means no holds barred, theres no such thing as fair in a declared "war". Never mind the fact that it's a failed war against an abstract enemy that ca not be won by any other conventional method, other than the one used by the Chinese to end opium addiction. Which their solution was to round up every addict and shoot them in the head.

This has all happened before, it's nothing new. They did the same thing during Operation Green Merchant back in the late 80's early 90's. At that time they went after hydroponic retailers, and their records, coupled with raids on Dutch seed distributors.

Whats happening is that we are in a lame duck administration who is pulling out all the stops to wage their petty war on pot for the big pharmaceutical, and alcohol industries. Those two along with tobacco contribute more money to anti marijuana campaigns than anyone else by far.

One of these days when we get a government not controlled by big money and special interests we can all smoke a joint or grow a marijuana plant without fear of long prison sentences, and having all our goods seized.

7. Their War on Terra

encompasses many things. So they use it to find Politicians, to seek out and arrest people who have drugs, probably for people like us who speak out against the policies of this administration.

The Patriot Act is anything but Patriotic....

9. feeble lashing out
They are making war on a plant... enough said.

These men have lost the plot entirely, and have criminalized growing
fucking plants, as if the earth's natural bounty has their panties in
a bunch.

These are like adolescents who think sex is dirty, and similarly, the
orgasm of a good canabis high must be "dirty" and illegal, like sex
should be illegal if these people had their way. Powerful experiences,
must be illegal so that people do not break free of the mind-control
and the branwashing of the prison state.

That's what it comes down to... like logan's run, and on arriving at
the outside world, to discover that the entire frame of fear that
drives the city is irrelevant outside the glass domes of its centricity.

I wish the best to the BC seed dealers and peoples. Just remember that
every dollar wasted on cannabis civil disobedience and policing is a
dollar not spent on murdering iraqis.

The entire drugs war is a farce, a fraud to diminish the citizen's
right over their own choices and their own free will. It is a crime
against freedom of religion, and the people that wage the war are
anything but conservatives (or liberals), but sick, hateful, filth
that have no value in life but to leech-on and destroy other people.

12. Here on this site

Our civil liberties have been terribly eroded, so much so, that those
that remain are not complete. If your freedom to religion includes
taking a sacrament plant or "drug", then you don't have that freedom.
It is only for white christians and their theocratic distopia.
