Uzbekistan evicts United States from air base
Uzbekistan has told the United States to leave a military base that has served as a hub for missions to Afghanistan since shortly after the September 11, 2001, attacks, U.S. officials said on Saturday.

Just last Monday, however, U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld responded to a question about maintaining the base in Uzbekistan by saying: "We've had a good relationship. It's a good relationship now."

Uzb. Government, Rice publicly criticized the human rights violations (somehow, with a straight face).

FWIW, these violations include boiling political opponents alive in oil.

So, the new "government" of Uzbekistan has responded by telling the US to get the F out.

Stay tuned for the "Boycott Uzi's!" bumper stickers on enormous Suva, right next to the Pretty Yellow Ribbons (made in China).
