72 hour delay in notifying WH staff?
Can someone help me with some research?

I was listening to the best of Randi Rhodes yesterday, and a caller stated they heard that Alberto Gonzalez actually waited 72 hours, not 12, before notifying WH staff of the Justice Department's investigation into the outing of Valerie Plame.

Randi said she heard that too, but wanted to look into it more. But she said even if you buy Alberto's admission of a 12 hour delay, 12 hours is still obviously enough time to shred and destroy documents.

So anyway, has anyone else heard of this 72 hour delay? And if so, can you provide me the links to some info? Thanks!

3. LOL! If you CAN remember....
Pls provide me with the links to the info you have. I would really appreciate it.

A 12 hour delay is bad enough---but 72 hours is HUGE!

And it's important to remember that Alberto Gonzalez ASKED to delay the notification. He did't say "Should I notify everyone right away." He was basically like "Would it be ok to wait....."

2. Oh crap. Gonzalez ran so fast over to the White House there's probably
still skid marks in that pavement if someone would just look close enough.

This is really one of the dumbest ones yet.

7. It was first
(and most accurately) reported on MSNBC's Countdown, as you have noted. Despite some confusion in the public's perception of this, it is believed that Fitzgerald was fully aware of the implications. Some have compared it to the 18 1/2 minute gap on Nixon's tape. This does not look good for the White House.
