Energy Bill that passed - Dumb question

I've been a bit out and out of it for a while -

Did that energy bill that just passed include drilling in ANWR?

1. No, because then we would have filibustered (should have anyway IMO)

However, they plan on attaching ANWR drilling to a budget bill that can't be filibustered.

Opponents to drilling in ANWR had vowed to filibuster legislation that includes such a provision. But Domenici said the issue would be addressed as part of the budget process in September in a procedure that is not subject to filibuster.

2. I believe it was taken out in committee

The oil @ ANWR is not in sufficient quantity to justify the cost. It isn't 'sweet' like ME crude and, will therefore, B more expensive 2 process.

3. I'm not sure, but.........

When I called my 2 Senators about the energy bill they both said they were voting against it because it opens the door to drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. Both Senate offices said that, and one is Dem and one is a Repug. So, I would assume that the bill will make it easier to drill in the Gulf, but I don't have a clue about Alaska.
