Thank You for giving our President the courage to make this appointment and to stand firmly behind the person whom he felt was best suited for the job. Continue to grant our President firm resolve to do what is right, regardless of the political consequences. Thank You that You will help him to get away for a time of rest at his Texas home, and help him to find many hours of solitude to be in communion with You. May Your love sustain him and Laura as You continue to build Your holy temple in them, quickening them according to Your Word, and leading them to reflect the character of Christ Jesus, our Lord.

Father, our hearts continue to seek Your appointment of godly men and women to our Supreme Court, ever mindful that the Roe vs. Wade decision must be over-turned. We hear the cries of the unborn, Lord, and we ask that You would change the hearts of the nation’s mothers and fathers to be obedient to You and to preserve the precious lives that You create. Merciful Father, we confess that we have been disobedient and have failed to protect Your most innocent creations. Forgive us, Lord, and help us out of this tremendous pit of darkness and iniquity in which we have fallen.

As I was just reading this thread, I (a registered Republican) just got a call from the Hackett campaign telling me that Hackett was a Marine and that Schmidt was just another career politician. I told him I would be voting on Tuesday, but not for an ambulance chaser and laughed loudly into the phone.

The Dims are clearly fired up over this election in part because I think they intend to declare victory no matter what happens on Tuesday. Because Portman has run up such huge victory margins in the past few election cycles (70% of the vote against a no-name, no-money candidate), they think that they can fool people into believing that the tide has turned against the Republicans if Hackett manages to get over 40% of the vote.

For those in need of motivation to vote, this is clearly an opportunity for conservatives to stick it to the DU/DailyKos/Deaniac wing of the Democratic Party by electing the Republican candidate. Just remember how good it felt seeing the dejected Kerry voters the day after the election!
